A Fresh Look at Women’s Ministry

In her book, 'Side by Side', Sophie De Witt believes that 'Women's Ministry is more than a programme of meetings, it's an ongoing stream of ministry happening in diverse ways throughout congregational life'.

No longer does one approach of a programme of monthly meetings suit all. Women are all at different stages in their life and in their journey with God - fulltime work & coping with young children, adjusting to living in a residential home, the empty nest and so on... We all live in a world of social networks of communication at our fingertips. Life often seems so busy, which also puts a strain on developing any spirit-filled relationships.

Women's Ministry is about being intentional and finding fresh ways of sharing God together in life related ways… 'encouraging one another and building each other up...' 1st Thessalonians 5:11

A small team of 'girls of all ages' has been looking at PW's ministry and as part of this journey we have now adopted the new name LIFE (Living In Fellowship Everyday) for all Women's Ministry in Second. This will be affiliated to Presbyterian Woman at PCI and will support the Mission Fund.

This is the start of a new journey. We pray that God will shape our thoughts, giving us a fresh perspective to fulfil our calling to encourage women around us to become and grow as disciples of Jesus.
