From June to mid-August Rev. Mackay will be without the help of an assistant minister; this will mean that
during the summer months there will only be cover for urgent calls.

| Second Comber's new assistant minister will be Mr. Stewart Glendinning who will be with us full time from the 17th August to the 28th September and then 6 hours per week from October to May 2009. After completion of his college course in May 2009, it is intended that Stewart would be with us full time from June 2009 to June 2012. | |

| 24th February 2008 | Congregational Dinner |
| A Congregational Dinner will be help on Sunday, 24th February after morning worship, when we will be joined by the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr. J and Mrs Finlay; together with out former assistant minister Mr. Sam Finlay and his wife Karen and their family. Tickets are now available and may be obtained at any time from members of the Catering Corps or Roberta Murdock. Adults £10.00, children £5.00. We ask you to book tickets as soon as possible, but no later than Sunday 17th February please. | |
| 2nd February 2008 | Premises Cleaning |
| Given the success of, and the fellowship created last March when the congregation cleaned our premises after the building work, the Congregational Committee has decided to make this a twice yearly event to keep our premises in pristine order. Members of the committee will be working in teams on Saturday 2nd February from 9.30 am onwards to clean the halls etc; members of the congregation are encouraged to join with them. If you wish to be involved please speak to Nathan Todd (Congregational Secretary) as sooon as possible so final preparations can be made. Note that this date is the re-arranged schedule for this exercise after the 19th January was ruled out. | |

Our friends at Strand Presbyterian Church are having a concert on 23rd Feburary; here's the detail...
Strand Presbyterian Church, in association with New Irish Arts, are staging a concert by The New Irish Chamber Choir and Band in Knock Presbyterian Church, on Saturday 23rd February 2008 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12.50 with a £10.00 concession ticket for senior citizens and students. Tickets are available by post: 28 Norwood Avenue, Belfast, BT4 2EE, by telephone: 02890 657926 or 02890 655493 or by email redsky@strandpresbyterian.org.uk The proceeds are in aid of The Red Sky Project.

have Blue Santa (below), his Elves, lunch, coffee and teas, stalls & entertainment - a great chance to see everyone before Christmas...

| 25th November 2007 | Christians in Sport Service - with Glenn Ross |
A quick note to publicise our 'Christians in Sport' service - a great opportunity to invite others along to Church. The service will take place on Sunday 25th November at 6:30 pm where Glenn Ross - the current UK strongest man and former Doorman will share his story. The event is, of course, free of charge and everyone is welcome! UPDATE - thanks to all who came along on Sunday night past for the Christians in Sport - it was great to have a packed hall & listen to what Glenn had to say to us. |

A Steak Barbeque will be held on the Church Grounds on Friday, 31st August 2007 fom 7.00 pm 'til late; we'll have Live Music and it promises to be a great nights entertainment and craic! The Annual Church Fete is back on the 2nd June this year; with stalls, teas, games and lots more! Make a date in your diary, it always a great afternoon with plenty of craic; the fun starts at 2pm! If you can supply Cakes, Grocercies, Bric-a-Brac, Knitted garments, etc for the stalls please let us know; if you send it we can sell it! |

We're holding a Flower Festival at Second over the weekend of the 18th- 20th May!
This is to celebrate our Crosslink Project- and the work done to date; we encourage you all to come along on Friday
evening; Saturday morning/afternoon - or on Sunday afternoon to see the exhibit!
Thanks to all who helped out at the Flower Festival weekend, and of course thank you to those
who came along to see the wonderful display! Have you any comments - we'd love to hear from you!

| 31st March 2007 | Crosslink Project - Halls re-opening! |
The Crosslink Project - where we are rebuilding our minor hall and meeting area - is going to have a "red
letter day" soon on the 31st March 2007 - we are have a service of dedication to mark the opening of our
halls - one of which is our new Minor Hall (left).
The Service will take place on the Saturday at 2.30pm; lead by the Moderator of the General Assembly, The
Rt. Rev. Dr. David Clarke. All members of the congregation are encourgaed to attend; and friends/family are
also most welcome!

as the builders finish the major construction work.
